I took a little running break just before christmas, not really sure it was a good idea or not but too late to look back, all I know I am more determined than ever. Priority for the next few weeks is to loose weight, loose as much as I can, not because I want to look good but I want to survive this run across the Sahara. I went out this evening, my 2nd run of the day wearing a Sauna suit! Again not really sure if it helps but at the moment everything is trial and error. I did a small run around a park a few times wearing the suit, yes I looked like I just came out from the sauna but it's a test to see if it's beneficial to wear it on my longer run tomorrow morning. Tomorrow morning, like what I have been doing past few runs is running with a bag, it's not the bag I will be wearing during the race but 2 weeks later I hope I will.
I had a lengthy phone call with an experienced lady who gave me advice on what kit to take, what to avoid so that's how I decided what to wear. As soon as it arrives, I will post pictures and of course keep you informed what they are like, as the other kit comes in I shall be talking about these too.
Anyway, the picture above is an idea what I will eating the next few weeks, vegetables and salad and an odd fish chucked in every now and then. Not only is it important to get the runs in but to eat healthy too - unlike what I did on the run up to xmas.
I am going to be spending the next few days researching about what shoes to take. YES ideally I need to take a pair which I feel comfortable in during my training but I have just found out they stopped making them so I am on a mission to find the next best ones.
Over the few weeks I hope to be getting comfortable in my mothers garage with a sleeping bag and doing a mini mds, back to back runs. Again, I will keep you updated. I am now going to record my runs, I never do this but for the first time I think this is important especially I have no plans to stop these crazy runs after the MDS.
